Our Team

Christopher Layden is a Managing Director and joined VSS in 2025. He is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and structuring investment opportunities, transaction execution, and supporting portfolio companies.

Chris brings over three decades of investing experience across sectors with an emphasis on direct lending and structured capital. Prior to joining VSS, Chris was a Partner at GarMark Partners, a credit focused asset manager. Previously, he was a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of York Street Capital Partners, a private debt firm. Chris began his investment career at The CIT Group and its predecessor entities.

Chris holds an MBA from George Washington University and a BA from Fairfield University.
